Rob Gill G8DSU is the editor of the quarterly Cave Radio and Electronics Group Journal, which reaches issue 100 in December 2017.
Rob will talk on the underground communications systems available to cavers and cave rescue teams today and look at current developments, including data transmission and the use of HF and VHF, frequencies not usually associated with through-the-ground communications.
Other underground applications for radio and electronics will be discussed and illustrated with some of results of sophisticated cave surveying and visualisation work. Rob will bring a pair of 87 kHz Heyphone cave radios and there will be an opportunity to operate these and time for questions and discussion.
